The 2026 SAPRO Awards for the Best Recycled Plastic Products will be back in Cape Town on the 20th of August. This prestigious award celebrates and elevates progressive steps taken in the plastic recycling industry, through the hard work of recyclers, product developers, plastics converters and brand owners.
Companies or individuals with innovative products that use recycled plastic as part or all of the solution will be able to enter. Entered products which receive bronze, silver, gold, overall winner or judges special mention, will be announced at the awards ceremony and receive significant media exposure.
Products can shine in any one of the following categories:
- Agriculture and related products,
- Construction & building sector products,
- Creative or artisanal Solutions,
- Household & leisure products,
- Innovations & research outcomes,
- PCR Demand Champions*, and
- Rigid and Flexible Packaging Products,
Entries will open in March/April!
*PCR Demand Champions, awards a person, team, or project that has moved large new volumes to PCR in the last year. It has either increased production or PCR % inclusion to drive a big volume increase over the last year. It has taken steps to entrench the inclusion of PCR regardless of the volatile prices of virgin feedstock, and has helped to raise the profile of PCR as an attractive material choice.
The culminating SAPRO Awards ceremony and gala dinner will be a night of delights, where industry stakeholders gather to network and celebrate the achievements of their colleagues, teams and partners. This will take place in Cape Town (venue TBC) on the 20th of August 2026
